Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: July 16, 2025

Note: This Terms and Conditions document is a placeholder for internal demonstration purposes only and is not legally binding.

1. Introduction

Welcome to our digital platform designed to support individuals in recovery and their treatment centers (the “Platform”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Platform and form an agreement between you (the user) and [Company Name] (“Company”, “we”, or “us”). The Platform offers tools and resources such as resume building, job search assistance, an educational course library, patient management features for treatment staff, and community discussion boards. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to abide by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform.

2. User Eligibility and Accounts

Eligibility: The Platform is intended for use by (a) individuals who are participating in or have completed a recovery or treatment program, and (b) authorized staff or administrators of treatment centers or recovery programs. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If you are under 18, you may only use the Platform with the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, or authorized program staff. By registering, you represent that you meet these eligibility criteria and that the information you provide is truthful and accurate.

Account Registration: Some features require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must not share your account with others. If you are a treatment center staff member, you should use your individual professional account and not share access even with colleagues — each user should have their own credentials.

Account Responsibilities: You are responsible for all use of the Platform under your account. If you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or a security breach, you must promptly notify us. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized use of your credentials (please choose a strong password and handle it with care). If you register on behalf of an organization (such as a treatment facility), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and in that case the term “you” includes the organization.

3. Data Collection and Use

Personal Information: Using the Platform may involve providing personal information, some of which could be sensitive. For example, when using our resume builder or job search tools, you might input employment history, education, and contact details. If you are a participant in a recovery program, you or your treatment providers might input information about your treatment plan or progress (such as appointment records, goals, or completion status). We also collect information you choose to share on community boards or in your profile. By using the Platform, you consent to our collection and use of such information to operate and improve the service.

How We Use Your Data: We use your information to provide the Platform’s services and features. This includes, for example, using your profile and resume details to help format your resume or suggest job opportunities, and using your course progress data to recommend relevant learning materials. If you are linked with a treatment center, your information may be accessible to the authorized staff at that center for patient management and support purposes. We may also use your contact information to send you service-related updates or notifications (for instance, updates on new courses or job matches). We take care to use your data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and our internal privacy policies. Sensitive personal data (such as any health-related or recovery-related details) is handled confidentially and only shared with those who need to know it for providing the service (for example, with your counselors or with our support personnel on a need-to-know basis).

Data Privacy and Sharing: We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share your data as needed to run the Platform or as required by law. This may include sharing information with service providers who assist us (for example, cloud hosting or an AI service that helps generate resume suggestions), with your affiliated treatment center (so that your counselors or admins can monitor and assist your progress), or with other users to the extent you engage in public areas (for instance, information you post on a community board will be visible to other community members). Any research or analytics we conduct using Platform data will use anonymized or aggregated information. For example, we might look at overall platform usage trends or outcomes to improve our services or contribute to recovery research, but this will not identify you personally. Please review our Privacy Policy (if available) for more details on how we handle personal data. By using the Platform, you agree that we can collect, use, and share your data as described in these Terms.

User Contributions and Caution: Remember that any content you share on public or community sections of the Platform (like posting on a forum or group board) can be seen by others in the community. Avoid sharing personal details that you are not comfortable making public. Likewise, do not upload or share someone else’s private information without permission. We care about protecting your privacy and expect you to help us by being mindful about what you share.

4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Platform may offer features powered by artificial intelligence (“AI”) to enhance your experience – for example, generating draft resume content, suggesting improvements to your resume, or recommending job listings that might suit you. You acknowledge that AI-generated outputs are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. While we strive to make these features helpful and accurate, AI suggestions may occasionally be incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate. The AI works based on patterns and data and does not guarantee perfect or personalized results in every case.

User Responsibility for AI Content: Any content that the AI feature helps create (such as a resume summary or cover letter suggestion) should be reviewed by you. You are responsible for verifying and editing AI-generated content before you use it (for instance, before sending a resume to an employer). We are not liable for any consequences of decisions you make based on AI-generated suggestions, or for any errors or omissions in AI-provided content. Additionally, AI recommendations (like job matches) are not endorsements or guarantees of suitability – they are simply tools to help you in your own decision-making process. Always use your own judgment and, if needed, seek professional advice when relying on any information from the Platform.

No Professional Advice: Any information provided by the Platform’s AI or any other part of the service (including resume tips, job search advice, financial literacy courses, or community discussions) is general information and not personalized professional advice. For example, our tools can help with resume drafting, but they do not constitute career counseling tailored to your specific situation. Similarly, any recovery-related discussions or health information on the Platform are not a substitute for professional medical or therapeutic advice. Always consult qualified professionals for personal advice on health, legal, financial, or career matters.

5. Intellectual Property and Content Rights

Platform Content: All content and materials available on the Platform, except for content provided by users, are the property of the Company or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. This includes the software powering the Platform, the design and layout, text, graphics, logos, trademarks (such as the Platform’s name and logo), videos, curriculum materials in the course library, and any other informational content provided by us. We reserve all rights to this content. You are granted a limited, revocable license to use the Platform and its content for your personal development, recovery support, and/or your professional duties as a treatment provider, in accordance with these Terms. This means you may view, download, and use the Platform’s materials for your own use within the Platform’s intended purposes, but you may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our explicit permission. For example, a treatment facilitator may use our curriculum materials in their sessions at the treatment center, but they should not republish those materials outside the Platform or use them for commercial gain unrelated to the Platform’s authorized use.

User-Generated Content: You retain ownership of any original content that you create or post on the Platform (“User Content”). This can include things like the information in your profile, posts you make on community boards, or any documents you upload (e.g., a resume you build or a photo you share). By submitting or posting User Content on the Platform, you grant the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and display your content as needed to provide the services. For instance, this license allows us to display your forum posts to other community members, format your resume for download, or show your profile information to your counselors or potential employers as you direct through the Platform. We will never claim ownership of your personal creations (your words, your resume, etc.), and this license is only to permit us to operate the Platform effectively.

Content Standards: You are responsible for ensuring that any content you provide does not violate any laws or anyone else’s rights. This means you should only upload content that you have the right to use and share. Do not post material that infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark, or that divulges confidential or personal information of others without permission. If you share resources, text, or media created by others, you must have the necessary permissions or rights to do so. The Company is not responsible for user-generated content, but we reserve the right to remove or restrict access to any User Content that we believe may violate these Terms or applicable law.

Platform Feedback: If you choose to provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas to us about the Platform (for example, suggestions for new features or improvements), you agree that we can use and implement that feedback without any obligation to compensate you. Any such feedback you provide is entirely voluntary, and we may use it for any purpose, including improving the Platform or developing new features.

6. Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines

We are committed to making the Platform a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. By using the Platform, you agree to the following rules of conduct. You will not:

  • Break the law: Do not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to promote illegal activities. You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations while using our services.

  • Harass or harm others: Do not harass, bully, threaten, or encourage violence against any individual or group. This includes using hateful, discriminatory, or derogatory language toward others based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, recovery status, or any other characteristic. We have zero tolerance for hate speech or abusive behavior.

  • Post inappropriate or harmful content: Do not share content that is obscene, sexually explicit, or pornographic, or that contains extreme violence. Additionally, because this Platform serves people in recovery, do not post content that glorifies or encourages substance abuse, self-harm, or any other behavior that could be detrimental to someone’s recovery process. Content that could trigger or negatively impact others in recovery may be removed at our discretion.

  • Violate privacy or confidentiality: Do not share personal, medical, or sensitive information about another person without their consent. This includes private details about someone’s identity, health, or recovery journey. Treatment center staff must especially respect patient confidentiality. (If you are a treatment provider using the Platform, you are expected to follow privacy laws such as HIPAA where applicable and your organization’s policies when handling patient data.)

  • Impersonate or misrepresent: Do not impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity. You should not falsely imply that you are an employee or representative of the Company or any treatment facility if you are not.

  • Spam or unsolicited activities: Do not use the Platform to send spam, junk mail, chain letters, or unsolicited bulk messages. Likewise, do not use the Platform for unauthorized advertising, marketing, or promotional content. The community boards and communication tools are for supportive and relevant content, not for selling products or recruiting for outside programs, unless expressly allowed by the Platform’s specific features or with Company approval.

  • Disrupt or abuse the system: Do not attempt to disrupt the operation of the Platform. This includes prohibitions on uploading viruses, malware, or any other code that could harm the Platform’s functionality or other users’ devices. Do not attempt to bypass any security or access restrictions, and do not try to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform (including other users’ accounts, data, or the underlying software).

  • Automated access and scraping: Do not use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access or collect data from the Platform without our written permission. Our Platform is meant to be used interactively by real users; automated use can negatively impact performance and privacy.

Community Interactions: Use common sense and kindness when engaging with others on the Platform. Treat others with respect and empathy – remember that everyone using this service is on a recovery journey or helping those who are. If you disagree with someone, do so respectfully. We encourage supportive discussions and the sharing of helpful experiences or resources, but personal attacks or inflammatory behavior will not be tolerated.

Monitoring and Enforcement: We reserve the right (but do not have the obligation) to monitor user activity and content on the Platform to ensure compliance with these Terms. The Company may remove, edit, or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms or that we otherwise deem objectionable. We may also suspend or terminate accounts involved in misconduct (as described in the next section). Users are encouraged to report any behavior or content that they believe violates these guidelines or threatens the safety of the community.

7. Account Suspension and Termination

By You: You may stop using the Platform at any time. If you wish to deactivate or delete your account, you can contact us at any time at support@recovery-jobs.com (or use any account deletion feature that might be provided in the Platform’s settings). Terminating your account will generally prevent you from accessing the Platform’s features that require login. Keep in mind that in some cases, certain content you have contributed (such as community posts) may remain visible to others even after your account is deleted, unless we remove it. We handle personal data following our retention policies and Privacy Policy, so some of your data might be retained in backups or for legal compliance even after account deletion, to the extent permitted by law.

By the Company: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (or certain features within the Platform) at our discretion, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if you engage in behavior that harms other users, the community, or the Platform’s operation. For example, if a user is found harassing others or posting prohibited content, we may suspend that user’s posting privileges or ban the account. In serious cases (such as illegal conduct or threats), we may terminate the account immediately. We may also terminate or suspend the accounts of users who are no longer eligible – for instance, if a treatment staff member leaves the employment of a partner treatment center, or if it comes to light that a user registered with false information.

Effect of Termination: If your account is terminated (by you or by us), your right to access the Platform and its content will cease. You must immediately stop using any Platform services, and any licenses granted to you (for example, to use our content) will end. However, the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and liability limitations) will continue to apply. Termination of an account does not waive any rights or remedies the Company may have, and we reserve the right to pursue any legal action if the termination was due to a violation that caused harm or was unlawful.

The Company is not liable to you for compensation, reimbursement, or damages due to loss of access resulting from account suspension or termination, to the fullest extent permitted by law. It is your responsibility to retain copies of any information or content you want to keep (such as a resume or personal notes) before closing your account, as access to the Platform will be cut off after termination.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Provided “As Is”: The Platform and all its services and content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we strive to offer a high-quality service, we make no warranties or guarantees of any kind about the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of the Platform. This means, for example, we do not guarantee that the course materials are free of errors, that you will obtain employment through the job search tool, or that the community board will be available at all times without interruption. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including (but not limited to) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

No Medical, Legal, or Employment Guarantees: The Company is not a healthcare provider, employer, or recruiting agency. Nothing on the Platform constitutes medical advice, legal advice, or a promise of employment. For instance, participating in our program or using our tools does not guarantee any particular recovery outcome or job placement. Always consult professionals for medical or therapeutic advice specific to your situation. Any decisions you make regarding your treatment or career are your own responsibility. The Platform’s role is to support and inform, not to direct or guarantee your personal or professional outcomes.

Community Content and Third-Party Links: User-generated content (such as posts on community boards) reflects the views of the individual users, not the Company. We do not endorse opinions, advice, or statements made by users. Similarly, the Platform may contain links to third-party websites or resources (for example, a job listing might link to an external job application site, or a course might reference external materials). We are not responsible or liable for the content, availability, or accuracy of third-party sites or resources. Accessing those sites is at your own risk, and they may have their own terms and privacy policies.

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Company and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (a) your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Platform; (b) any conduct or content of any user or third party on the Platform, including defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of other users; (c) any content obtained from the Platform (including any reliance on AI-generated content or educational materials); or (d) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

In no event shall the Company’s total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform exceed the amount (if any) that you paid to us for use of the Platform in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars (USD $100), whichever is greater. (If applicable law does not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, some of the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent allowed by law.)

Indemnification: You agree that if a third party makes a claim against the Company related to your use of the Platform or your violation of these Terms, you will indemnify and hold the Company harmless from any such claim, including any liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from it. This means you may be responsible for costs or losses incurred by the Company due to your actions (for example, if you post content that infringes someone’s rights and they sue us, or if you misuse the Platform in a way that causes damage).

Release: Additionally, you release the Company from any claims or liability related to interactions with other users of the Platform or with any employer or service that you connect with through the Platform. We do not supervise employer-user interactions or personal interactions between users, so any arrangement or communication outside the Platform’s online tools is solely between the parties involved.

No Waiver: If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, it does not mean we have waived our right to do so later.

Your Consumer Rights: Some jurisdictions provide certain statutory rights (such as minimum quality guarantees for services) that cannot be limited by contract. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude any such rights to the extent they are applicable to you.

9. Modifications to the Terms

We may revise or update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, such as by posting a notice on the Platform or sending an email to the address associated with your account. The “Effective Date” at the top of this document will indicate when the latest changes became effective. By continuing to use the Platform after any changes to the Terms are in effect, you agree to the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the Platform and, if desired, terminate your account. It is your responsibility to review the Terms periodically for updates. We encourage you to check the Terms occasionally to ensure you are aware of the most current rights and obligations governing your use of the Platform.

10. Contact Information

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding these Terms or the Platform, please contact us at support@recovery-jobs.com. You may also reach out to us by mail at [Company’s Mailing Address] (if applicable). We value your input and will do our best to address your inquiry promptly.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and agree to be bound by them (even though this document is a sample intended for demonstration). Thank you for being a part of our recovery support community and for helping us maintain a positive, safe environment for everyone.
